cure

Cure.
the boldness of this
Word sears with power.
the Cure. the thing everyone
Wants, needs. it's the Key.
an answer to all the late nights
screaming, why me?
a Cure.
a placebo for security.
a pill as a friend.
Another light going out.
where's the cure?

About this poem

I feel we are all doomed because we are led to believe one thing our whole life, told there's only one cure, one answer. We all crave to be the best because of this natural act of competition, who can be the best? Who can gain the most, without learning a thing at all? I wrote this for my own angst on topics relating to the obsession of being the best, and fitting in when we should be rewarded for our differences.
