The Sun, The Lion, and the Fool

Hilary Uhl 1985 (Philadelphia, PA)

Surrendering to unknown forces
Sounds like a Tuesday to me
Stimulating conversation leads
To misunderstanding and hunger
Starting over with a renewed
Sense of purpose is reward enough

I felt you and I followed
Not knowing the door would
Slam shut behind me
Here I sit in quiet contemplation

Inside your darkness
Inside your heart
Dreams deferred
Wishes ungranted
Secrets to precious for
Anyone but me to see

My vision is clear
You consume me
I'll happily feed the light
Within your complex soul

My Sun, My Lion, My Fool
