You and me.

Niriksha B 2022 (Bangalore)

I often wonder why i fell for you the way i fell for you.
Maybe it was the grand gestures
Probably the small ones. It's definitely the small ones.
I fell for you when you put me on the safer side of the road,
When you wipe off the icecream off my nose,
When we walked together, hand in hand,
Dreaming we'd grow old one day,
I fell for all the 2^1000 kisses planted on my forehead,
Oh my , you swept me off my feat, got me flying like a bird,
high beyond my senses, where present and fantasy can't be distinguished
I hope we get engraved, in an alternate universe, where the sky is embellished with stars of our memories
Reminding me of every heartbeat, for mine is synced with yours
Where we'll meet again, where the sky meets the sea
And the horizon becomes the proof when we unite and dissolve into infinity
Where i lay my head on your chest and the time freezes, for you and me.

About this poem

I wrote this imagining the love of my life, how Things would have been only if we had ended up together. Afterall, dreams remained as dreams. So here's a glimpse of everything I dreamt of with that one person, all that passion put into words.
