Let there be Light

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

You’ll move me and place me wherever You choose
I know that You will because that’s just what You do

You’ve taken me to the end of the earth
You gave me your Spirit along with new birth

You’ve moved me to poems and songs without end
You fight all my battles and call me your friend

Men talk and they talk without saying a thing
They keep moving their lips and they can’t even sing

But with only four words God made everything clear
He created the light and gave us ears to hear

Now having the light, we should walk in the same
Not stumbling in darkness just looking to blame
