The Devils In Suits

Edward Otoo 2001 (Gomoa Nyanyano)

You are devils
We didn’t recognize you
For you wore nice suits
And spoke the Queen’s English

You deceived us
With your sweet sugar coated speeches
We fell for your falsehoods
And took advantage of our women and children

We trusted you
By putting you into offices
To serve our interests
But you turned the offices into families and friends

We provide for you all you need
You enjoy better working conditions
We pay for all your expenses
But you pay us back with evil

You are our downfall
You’ve caused us so much pain and sorrows
You’ve made here so difficult to live
Now we have known your true colors
You are devils in suits
For you came to steal, destroy and kill our future
