Something

This poem is something
I'm not quite sure what
I let my mind run
When I’m stuck in a rut
The wheels turn
As I learn
New rhymes and words
Sometimes it takes a while
To write a new piece
Other times it's a simple release
Poetry is an escape
A chance to leave the world
You could join in a race
Or watch a boy meet a girl
Poetry is never the same thing twice
There are infinite possibilities
You can get lost in a thousand stories
And run away from responsibilities
Poetry is beautiful and tragic
Planned and sporadic
Poetry is something
And sometimes nothing
