As The Shadow Of Night Approach

As the shadow of night approach,
        I wait in my room alone,
                washed with trepidation.
The early hour does not absolve,
         my trembling fear,
                 of evil drawing near.
I hear the ghostly echo,
         of leather boots marching,
                  upon the Constitution.
