You

You were the type of read between the lines type of person
I knew what to say and what not to say
Our roles switched, but you were the adult I was the child
That same child you hurt
I can’t escape the nightmares
Just like the trauma
It’s a part of me
As a result a part of you
I won’t ever be like you
Never had a clue I’d be so blue
I guess it’s all from you

About this poem

My poem “You” made to leave people guessing, and questioning. Through a hurting child’s voice, and perspective. I was the child that lived through it. Perhaps “You”could be lots of different people. It’s your assumption. The cards are in your hand. Still left in the dust and unanswered.
