Yes I am a Girl
Naincy 2002 (Lucknow)
If birds im the sky have the right to fly
Why not me?
If everyone has the right to dream,
Why not me?
People say that you don't have a right to dream big,
You are a girl,
You have to understand that you do not have the right to rise high !!
When the boy has the right to go out alone,
Why not a girl?
When my brother has the right to study,
Why don't I?
Why my father yells at me while loves my brother so much.
Why everyone ask me to be closed in those four walls of my room
Why everyone wants me to keep myself hidden?
Everyone has the right to wear whatever they want
Why don't I?
When everyone has got the right to do what he wants,
Why not me?
Everyone have problem with me while happiness in the same things of brother,
For the sake of love mother you have never kept ome extra roti for me.
But in Brother's case you have always fed more than enough.
Everyone has the right to talk
why not me?
Everyone has the right to know the answers of their own questions,
But why don't I have this right?
Whevever I ask questions, evryone stops me
With the reply, "You are a girl, just don't speak much"
Don't know how many questions are hidden in myself,
I can't do that coz I am a girl !!
When my period days come,
Behaviour of everyone is changed,
Don't go to the kitchen,
Don't go to the temple
Don't go anywhere.
There is a ban on everything.
Why everyone starts to think that the girl is dirty !!
If I am a girl then is there my fault in this?
To be true,
I am absolutely innocent.
Though I have so many restrictions,
I am a girl and one day I will fly too,
Whoever wants to cut my wings,
I will show everyone,
Now I am not afraid of this cruel world,
Only need a little support from his people.
I'm proud of myself
I am proud to be a girl!!
