The 21st Century Epidemic

Abundant population, spaces in between
Try to fit in, get squeezed in the crowd yet feel so cold.

Late night, rolling around in bed
Streetlight flashing through the curtains.

Whisper to pixels, shorter attention span
Run from life and peace from the mind.

Tickling tears, cognitive distortions
hear the darkness, sleep to the noise.

Covered-up mirrors, coolness - the ever-changing social construct
Pick-up lines and double standards.

Hate to lose
Take the fall and gravity wins.

Railway tracks, never-ending and incoherent
Take a window seat, stare at the couple standing face to face.

Empty subways, hands in pocket
some indie songs and the human urge to belong.
