Broken Hearts Break.

Broken Hearts Break. By MATT OMAMO (Written 4th November 2022).
Let me not be in your dreams residing in vain,
Let me never make you smile again,
Let me never be the shoulder you cry on,
Love me not and let me carry on,
Cause happiness was never my portion,
Broken hearts break and heal they long for.

There is no need dear for you to be here,
But to hold you near and dear never to endure,
There is no way to here, no tears to cry here,
Loneliness resides here, mere misery at its pure,
Emptiness to revere, and hatred to desire
Broken hearts break, and heal they do too.

Forget me not and remember me in bliss,
Cold hands that burn hot and silence you miss,
Sunshine in the night like comfort from a stolen kiss,
Memories to forget stored in pieces like shattered glass,
Touch and get cut, but that’s okay scars we reminisce,
Broken hearts break, heal they do then they go.

Secure in the known, too meek to explore,
Circles round and round we ran, too humble to dare,
Sting as cold as achily dawn, too cold to care,
Mist and fog cloud thy vision, too blind to stare,
Dreams fading into oblivion, too hurt to disappear,
Nightmares in town misery’s my throne, too afraid to fear,
Broken hearts break, heal they do not, scars remain and hope is all we know.
