Billy Weaver - “The Landlady”

A dark gloomy night,
He looks to the side to see a great sight,
“Bed and Breakfast” the sign said,
His body had lead him to the door ahead,
The women then lead him to his bed!

The woman acted strangely,
But to him it was just a little faintly.
She asked him to sign the guest book,
So then he took a little look,
Only two people’s names,
He doesn’t like playing these games!

He goes and writes his name and address,
He didn’t feel any type of stress.
He goes into the living room for some tea with the lady,
Who seemed pretty shady.

He began to tell her about the names,
“How time does fly away from us all”, she claims.
So he just brushed it off,
Like a little cough.

But the she began to talk to him about his height and his age,
As he began to take the newspaper and flip the page.
He brushed it on by,
And let out a little sigh.

He noticed the parrot in the cage,
It looked like it was a bit old in age,
But it looked frozen in time,
It looked like it was an organized crime!


He asked her why it was so still,
Then she started to spill.
She said she hand stuffed it,
Then sewed the little slit.

She told him about her little Basil,
He looked a little dazzled.
She stuffs all of her little pets when they pass away,
So her life doesn’t turn so gray.

He asked her his important question,
Without any hesitation.
“Haven’t there been any other guests here except them in the last two or three years?”
She smirks from ear to ear.

“No, my dear”,
She said loud and clear.
“Only you”,
Nobody knew what happened to Billy, Billy who?
