New Blood
Yippee
To day I met Dracula’s minion with abandon
Margaret was her name
Blond, affable and up front
She sidled up to me
And simply stated in a deep voice
“ I am here to take your blood” and that was it
Quickly and efficiently she drew back my sleeves
And inserted the hypodermic
I barely flinched and in a few seconds
It was over then she was off again
Down the corridors to find more victims
Unwilling or willingly to dispense of
Their blood for analysis
Margaret, the super efficient blood letting lady
Off again on her bloody way
And for once it was a painless extraction!
About this poem
This tells of when I was admitted to hospital for severe anaemia and having had numerous blood tests to ascertain what was wrong with me
