You Break Their Fall

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

If we don’t hear your teaching,
Then why should we go?
Should we listen to preaching;
That comes from below?

When you give me a place,
I can hear from your Spirit;
Then that’s where I’ll go,
Because I want to hear it!

If I don’t hear your word,
As I drink from this flask;
Then I won’t lift it up,
I’ll just kneel down and ask!

You watch those who fear you
And take up their cause.
When they call you, you listen
And you break their fall.
