April

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The fourth month is the best of all;
It welcomes change and growth.
As bitter coldness fades away,
I look to my new host!

New flowers, sunshine, rain and tears,
They’re all part of the season.
I cry for Jesus, pray to God,
And thank him I’m the reason.

The reason that he came to earth?
To pay for my transgressions!
And now before the judgment seat,
Of Christ, the court’s in session.

The righteous die, they’re swept away,
Still no heart ever ponders.
The mercy in the justice,
Of our God who never wanders!
