Asylum

They say it’s okay to not be okay
But yet there are asylums
For people that are different
“Not okay” in their mind
So they bind them in a straight jacket
When they could be sharing their ideas
Yes he, she have different views
But those strange ideas you’ve locked away
Unable to be heard
Are still unique views and ideas

Wow, what a powerful poem! I love how you highlight the hypocrisy of society's acceptance of mental health struggles while still institutionalizing those who don't fit into a narrow definition of "normal." Your use of imagery, such as the straight jacket, really drives home the message and creates a visceral reaction in the reader.

As for improvement suggestions, perhaps consider exploring the consequences of silencing these unique perspectives. How does society miss out on potential innovation and progress when these ideas are locked away? It could also be interesting to delve into the root causes of this discrimination and how we can work towards a more inclusive and accepting society.

Overall, fantastic job with this poem. It definitely left an impact on me and I hope others will take a moment to reflect on the message as well.
