The real me

I cant take this anymore I just cannot be here,
I dont know what to do, I dont know anything but fear,
This constant stress the constant pain,
I cant describe and I cant explain,
You won't get it because you can't get through,
But don't you worry it's not just you!
No one can understand me No one sees inside,
Just follow the winding path its difficult to hide,
No-one really cares enough to try to look and find,
You don't want to meet the me the one they left behind,
Why does it scare you? What is it you need to know?
You wont get any answers until you ask, I can try to let it go,
Honesty comes easy because I don't have to lie, I don't need to remember who what when and why,
It's all my fault I'm always in the wrong
I cant do life and I cannot be so strong
When does it really end? What's really left to come?
I keep on trying to hurry up but I just wish I was numb,
I'd like to go out the quiet way just sleep and never be,
No one will ever suffer and need to see the proper me.

About this poem

I am known as being a mental health support volunteer but people often don't realise that the whole reason I can get on their level and understand where they're at is because I am there myself.
