Preserve the Integrity

Jeffrey Powell 1979 (Pittsburgh, PA)

Terminate the promenade.
Elucidate and line up straight - this
Frivolous conglomerate.
Envision with provisions made,
But with motivation to be moderate.
[Categorized as lacking vision
Yet immune to mass derision
And, without sympathies bayed
Alternate parties are eradicated.]
Simply space, without precision
But leave no room for any hate.
Fuel by the best, efficient
Carefully gathered erudition
That's not likely to fade.

About this poem

It may not be clear to the reader but l am outlining the broken election process in America and making simple suggestions to repair it. The bracketed section is characterizing the current system as ineffective and disregarding –which goes along with the overall theme that it is crisis-prone and unsatisfactory. Above and below that are my implorations for change.

Jeffrey lives with his fraternal twin whom he enjoys sharing a laugh with at the opportune time. more…

Thanks!! Yeah, this one l've had in the works awhile and finally taylored it to a viable theme. I don't brag about this stuff but when l feel good about something that l've produced (and l do here) it gives me a kick that it gets recognized!
