THE SCAR OF YOUR EYES

Sananda Kar 1999 (Jamshedpur)

The scar of your eyes,
Hinders the thoughts of mine,
How's life been,
On your side?

Do you still carry a manual,
To be alive,
Or have you learnt to
Be a rebel of your life?

Does the fragrance of the wind,
Still enchant you,
With your untangled love,
Or have you still,
Been an entangler of your social rituals?

The depth of your eyes,
Is deeper than my sight,
Still you fail to,
See your loved ones beside.

You wander around,
The miracles of death,
Dismantling, the fortunes of your breath.

Cursing the morning,
For its bright day,
To give you another reason,
To be in your sick bed.

About this poem

This poem is about a very dear person of my life whom I lost in the covid. I didn't know him for long. I met him just 5 months before he passed , but those 5 months I witnessed a man who was breathing for life each and every day. He made me think about life and death and what really matters at the end. I still miss him and he will always be like a dear grandfather of mine.
