Once upon a time!
Once upon a time !
Once upon a time,I was me ..
Below the yam leaves I hid
The rain spluttered and scattered
What a camouflage I made ..
Through the smashed muddy trail
Walked blithely with my bag
Never worried, a shabby me ..
With nails of flame tree tinted red
And crown of leaves brightly green
Radiant from core that was me
What is smirk? I didn’t know
Once upon a time,I was me..
Listening to the flowing enigma
rising sand castles on the brim
Trailing the finch to know whom it swindle
Spotting mayna twain for a midas touch
Loved the me… That was me…
How can I forget..??
The awestruck eyes of mother when gazed
The yellow tint of dribbled mangoes
On her snow white girl’s gleamy cheeks
What is sly? I never learned
The pellucid fate like a squeezing serpent
Heaved its head and searched and searched
Glance ,it fall on the mirror
In vain quest of finding me
Woefully it retire in despair
And in solitude I remain ,
I just have a sole query
All in the world around,Where am i?
Once upon a time,There lived Me ..
About this poem
I believe childhood was the time when everyone lived without masks. When we grow up we wear different masks on different occasions. Smile when we cry inside, acts brave when we broke down from inside, give shoulder to someone when we are slipping away … everywhere there are masks.. to find the real person,we should travel back to our good old days. Here I visualize some of my great childhood memories.
