Adetutu 1998 (Lagos)

These letters are empty
My mailbox are so full of them
Each time I seat
And then I grab my tea
There are no words to see
And so I took them
And then pinned them
Thousand words in blanks

These letters are empty
Echoes on sheets
Still I dared to see
Though it's not in abc
My heart could not withstand the agony
And so I took them
And then crushed them
Voiceless sounds from cracks

About this poem

The past that keeps coming at us, the picture of our failure being painted for us, causing us to sit back and dwell on stuffs. In the end never moving on...
