In my mind

Shreya Pather 2007 (Umhlanga)

In My Mind:

In my mind it will always be you and me
A vision I see, a sound I hear
But my words come out unclear
I am afraid to steer
Those thoughts of rejection
Make my heart inject
But I can't help it
God has given me this strength...
To see the person you really are.

Your kindness, compassion
Your pure hearted smile
Could make my heart feel joy from a mile
This unfortunately has to be kept in my mind
For if you find out, I'm afraid...
What if you reject and leave me behind?

In my mind it will always be
A vision of you and me
A fairytale waiting to unfold
I pray to God that one day it can be told.

Shreya Pather

My name is Shreya Pather and I am 14 years old. I enjoy writing poetry and aspire to publish one of my poems someday. I have written "In My Mind" because as a teenage girl I can relate to normal feelings of affection. I can also relate to the feelings of fear for rejection and fears of ruining a friendship. This poem was mainly to stream out my true feelings. more…
