HOMESICK
HOMESICK
Realised home is where I am loved.
Naught feels like home,
Where I had been mollycoddled,
Where I had luxuriated in my wonderland,
Afar from bliss, here I am,
With hope, oh future! here I come, Rucksack of adventures underpin, Sometimes, I wonder, what if I don't fit in?
Dismayed, yet found comfort within me, Acknowledged the strength, My Lord, inculcated in me, which let me out a sigh! Of relief, a ray of sunshine in a hurricane.
Well! Now I know
Never will I pen 'I quit'
And never will I find a place As home where I always 'fit'.
Angel Anusha
About this poem
The poem Homesick is my comfort. It was not easy staying away from home, a turmoil always attacked me. When I started finding an escape from the disturbance of being Homesick. I tried everything, from making innumerable friends, going out, and exercising yoga to visiting home repeatedly but in the end, I am here again. The strength was fading & my eyes were wetting with a multitude of thoughts in my mind. Unable to continue further and decide to give up on my dreams and go back home, I penned down all my emotions which eventually turned out to be my first poem HOMESICK. And also found my escape. Reading the poem often strengthened me. Sometimes it's just you, who has to console yourself, you! who have to have your own back. I strongly believe in God and I am thankful that he had been with me in this struggle. The poem is for everyone who is away from home or away from their near ones, who make you feel at home. Have strength and never quit. more »
