Fleeting moments of cloud nine

euphoria antagonistic to this melancholic world,
a concept unknown if unaccompanied by substance.
sight to the sore eyes would be a blinding smile,
uncanny to this perplexed sequence.

plethora of love radiate mothers,
escorting a child's innocent giggle.
narcotics seeping into veins of breathing bodies,
of those once fed unadulterated ambrosia, now in a drugs scandal.

familiar tunes rhythmically harmonize with my heart,
confidante to soulmate unveiled the gloomy overcast.
in the despairing  cosmos engulfed we are,
the exclusively fleeting moments of cloud nine will forever last.
