After
After
After he died, he left behind these requests.
He wrote,
To burn him down to ashes in an altar of fire promised by gods,
To scatter those ashes in all of the nothingness he was
To fill in his blanks in their minds memories of whom he never was.
A father..., Mirroring love and shadowing pain,
Drowning sorrow and hosting joy.
A husband..., Leaning to loving her everyday in every way
Worshipping the maze of a temple her cleavages were. Holding unto her palms even when time adorns it with wrinkles.
A Man..., Strong and gallant appearance on the skin yet vulnerable and loving every whole of him within
All he was, was a locked up stranger in his mind.
Brewing hurricanes was all he never sought to be but somewhere they all discovered it was him.
He begged them,
To put on gloves that can slice through darkness clearer than sunlight
To leave the doors locked in their dreams so he wouldn't stager in the drunk he always has been
To wash away all the haunting moments reminding them of his knives stabs on their skins with his alcoholic screams.
To drown every memory of him within clenched teeth in a pool of all salivary misery he caused.
His evil wasn't born it was made when he was made to grow in a society glorifying self hate.
He died a long time ago even before the trigger was pulled, even before his skin hit the dust.
About this poem
It's my poem about loss, about family. About a man that wasn't there for his family until he died.
