a poem

A poem

for everyone everything is different
but
for me
i have tools
things to help me
let go
express myself
my thoughts
my emotions
my mumble jumble knotted up
inside
i can only begin
to decipher
them
sprawled upon these
pages
my pen in hand
i can begin
to understand
myself
i can start
to unleash
to destress
putting thoughts, feelings, everything
i hold deep
inside
onto paper
dont judge
this is me
and if you cant
understand
then close this book
its not for you
its special
its for
me

About this poem

Some people look at me and just don't understand what poetry means to me. They don't understand how powerful and freeing it can be! I wrote this poem to explain to myself and to others how poetry effects me.
