AS THE RAIN POURS

MONICA GUZMAN 1978 (San Luis Obispo, California)

My spirit is awaken
To a rose petaled dance
Like a candle to its silhouette
Its open to romance
A known presence is quieted by a natural storm
As the rain pours
A guilted setting of face
Leads out to belief
As the feathers of divine trace my skin
My eyes open to relief
As the rain pours
My heart is caught in a butterfies wings
A sensual touch of sensitivity
Brings me to a peak
As a finger silences
It smooths across my lips
All that is secreted speaks
In a controlled rythym held within me
As the rain pours
No none scape has painted this sight
My clued eyes traced to outline
A fear of regret
Leaf to stem
The rose glides across my skin
caressing a gentle glide of glimpse
My thoughts to lips collect
As I consciously refrain from recollect
I release a single drop to dew
To moisten the color of you
As the rain pours
I think of you.
