As far as comets fly

Comets soar across the sky,
Above a sea of stars.
The constellations light their way,
Far beyond the dark.

Burning flames of blue and white,
Ignite their celestial race,
While we who dwell beneath the sky,
Stare blankly into space.

Where they go, I never shall know;
They surpass my feeble mind.
I just hope, my dreams can soar,
As far as comets fly.

About this poem

I enjoy star gazing often, and every now and then I'll see a shooting star or a comet.
