The dilemma perpetually differs

Aashna Dhakan 2002 (India)

Some build bridges;
While others burn bridges.
Some build one and burn one.
The dilemma perpetually differs.

Building it is intriguing.
Some build it as a band-aid,
To heal the wound.
Some build it with love;
While others build it with money.

Some build it for their beloved
With flowers as rugs;
While others build it for their foe
With thorns as rugs.
The dilemma perpetually differs.

Burning it is thrilling.
Some burn to distance
Themselves from others.
While others burn it to
Forget the past.

Some burn it for themselves,
While others burn it for others.
Some are forced to burn;
While others are ecstatic to burn.
The dilemma perpetually differs.
