Your gift, your responsibility

YOUR GIFT, YOUR RESPONSIBILITY:
THE HIDDEN, THE KNOW-IT-ALL AND THE IGNORANT

How intertwined are you with your gifts and the promises of God?
How disciplined are you with the knowledge of the sacrifices you have to make for God?
How tuned are you with the voice of God?
How connected?
How versed?
How cultivated?

Your garden that holds the seeds of your gifts needs grooming,
and results equals your fruits blossoming.
This is not the time to mention these dealings.
You yourself know what you should be doing.
How connected?
How versed?
How cultivated?

You have subjected yourself to hiding,
your gifts slowly dying.
You have acquiesced to mediocrity,
actively avoiding diversity.
You pulled yourself away from the crowd,
not knowing your confidence and treasures will keep getting ploughed.
How connected?
How versed?
How cultivated?

You think you are knowledgeable,
you think you know it all.
You think you are undefeatable,
you think you have answered your call.
God's assignment is so much more
Rest your pride, settle offshore.
Check the exact thing he has in store.
How connected?
How versed?
How cultivated?

Just as it is written in James 1:5,
If you are confused about your drive,
Jehovah in heaven will cause you to thrive
So you can survive,
and show the world that you have arrived.
If you do not know,
soldier ask your maker for clarity.
Channel your audacity.
Be a challenge,
Employ the remedy.
You are connected because you see.
You are versed because you know.
You are cultivated because you listen.
Do as you are told.

About this poem

It is didactic and satirical as it intimately tackles issues surrounding talent and how we manage them for our use and for the general benefit of the people around us. We influence more than we know and we're often blind to that. This poem serves as an insight into taking a bold step towards changing that.
