You

Anuska Regmi 2008 (Kathmandu)

You

As you lay there covered in your blood,
You couldn't stop your mind’s constant self-destructive flood;
This diabolical world could never acknowledge your pain,
You sat there smiling while your heart was trapped by a chain;

You faced this anguish all alone,
I would have helped if I had known;
Their apologies were always so patronizing and insincere,
They cry and realize now that you are not here;

I hope you are at peace wherever you are,
You feel so close but yet too far;
As they let down your coffin, all I feel is numb,
The signs were right there, how could we be so dumb;

When I miss you, I will sing your favourite song,
Will look up to the sky, knowing you will hum along;
You were so tired of your agony and tired of life,
All you ever thought of was using that knife;

You can't hold on to something that is gone,
Now all I can do is sit alone on your lawn;
I will always love you to the moon and back,
Your humour my life will always lack;
