Yesterday is Gone

As much as it hurts we have to let go..
We have to lean on God, he Father
And pray that HE takes all of our sorrow..
Moments in time will remind me..
How much of my life you have touched..
And how much of an artery You were to this Family..
I was with You even when our lives did not connect..
But God gave me a part of You to love and to hold on to..
Even when my spirit was far from being lifted..
As grace and mercy takes my hand..
My dear loved one, I want so much to take yours..
I do not want to sing this song..
Because we know that you know, yesterday is gone..
So, you go ahead and smile forever, because that is so deserving of a life lived for a little time..
I am still in my mode of us smiling to the simplest star in the sky..
All of my tomorrows will remind me of our yesterdays..
And in them, I will find a love that only your heart can relay...
