The widow
Oluwafunmilayo Deborah Adebeshin 2004 (Ogun state)
THE WIDOW
The crown is gone!
Sitting down quietly
In the dark
In the cold night
With no one else
"The widow"
Thinking and Thinking
About what no one knows
Who could help ?
Thinking of where to start from
"The widow"
Slowly - Turning to the left
Slowly - Turning to the right
She thought of the pains
She had passed through
"Oh so sad !
The window becomes a second class among women.
She is going to pass through days of loneliness.
"The window"
Have always been a happy woman
Why I'm so full of tears ?
Asking no one in particular
"The widow"
She hates to see her children groan in pains!
Always trying to put on a smile
Even in the dark that's -
"The widow"
Going to sleep always with her mind not at rest.
"The window"
