The Queen has died; Reflections of a child.

Everyone’s watching TV,

No one is cooking our tea.

All their faces look sad,

The news from the palace is bad.

I see the Queen’s London home;

The palace that houses her throne.

Balmoral’s where she went to stay,

Today is a very sad day.

The Queen we are told, is not well,

She’s going to leave, I can tell.

I fear that she’s going to die,

Oh, now I am starting to cry.

We know not what to believe,

Is it that we do not leave?

We pass through the gates

Where God sits and waits.

The good go to heaven, we’re told.

The Queen is incredibly old.

I think she was beautiful.

Loyal and dutiful.

Goodbye to you then we say,

Such a sad, sad day.
