Pilgrim
I am a pilgrim
Often I delve into the future
And life is at its bay
The trees are green,
Even the fruits are ripe to savor.
The flower blossom
Waving at the sun, their dearest
And smiling at the butterfly.
Then back into the dysphoria of the past
Which has determined to haunt me
with imagery of a human carcass
That I hunted down in my diminutive stage.
I am deluged by its echo
As it reverberates and scribbles
On the wall of my heart.
Now I am in today,
Taking a step at a time
Making bricks.
About this poem
This poem depicts how many thoughts run through a man's mind. It depicts how deeds of the past can create a long-lasting impact on the mind. In the first thought, the mind envisages the future to be bright and fair. It is optimistic about the future. The next thought, the memories of evil deeds haunt the mind. Although the deeds were done in ignorance, it didn't stop the memories from haunting. The next thought depicts how the mind is willing to be better and make progress.
