Mother or old hag?
MOTHER OR OLD HAG ?
Her presence in a family
Puts smile in each face that beholds her
Her aura as smooth as silk
Of which its brush on the cheek
Sends trails of happiness down the spine
She is beautiful
In the eyes of her beholder
She is a baby
A sweet baby girl
Her path is made smooth
By all who comes her way
She is meant to be mellow
With less ego
Gifts are paid as tribute to her
By beloved ones
A warmth smile
Which gives rest to the heavy burdened
She must wear
Welcomes all but none
Easily carried away by childish fantasy
Taught to guide her legs
And never to bend her morals
For if she does
The pride of the family in her
Would be lost to the wind
She is a lady
And must never be vulnerable to treats
Like a baby
Love for her
Comes from all angles
Grows like a dense forest
And flows like an endless stream
Suitors like dark cloud
Pour the intents of their heart
Like rain drops
Confusion sets In her path
She may not know the difference
Between love and infatuation
Or can she?
Expected to make a choice
Of which will be bonded to her
Like a scar on the skin
She must make a choice!
And be careful
For all that glitters
Is not gold
Did she make a good choice ?
Or was she not wise enough ?
She would be left alone
All alone
In a lonely path of wrong choice
In her own pit of indecisiveness shall she dwell
For none will care for her wellness
For a good choice
She would live with chores of a mother
Bring forth her like
To the world she relishes
And to teach them the right lest they perish
Stands as a gardener
Delighted of his colourful garden
For it is what she sowed
That she would reap
If she is lost in the ocean
Of indecisiveness
Lands on a wrong choice
Or ends up
Chasing her suitors away
She is doomed for she would end up
An old hag
A scar she would live with all her life
Would be used to cite as an example of
Indecisiveness to young girls
If they do not cut the tree of pride in them
And to shun intoxication from indecisiveness
Alas, a choice she makes today
Leads her to the lit path of motherhood or the bottomless pit of haggardness
About this poem
It is all about the trail of the female ones . Their transition from a little defenseless girl to a lady and from a lady to a woman which will either end up as a mother or an old hag. She is left with the choice of who she wants to become . The stages of their life starting from when they are born. The love and attention they get to the stage of suitors coming for marriage and to the point where they may have pride which would chase the suitors away or be drowned in the sea of indecisiveness which at times end them up with the tag- " the old hag" or looking from the bright side - " a priceless mother"
