LOSER ‘S HEART

Muhonja 2002 (Uasin Gishu)

I have to grieve a heart
And take a tedious leave
For with him is my heart gone
In his heart I’m sure I’m not the one

He’ll come late
Train will be on the rail I know
But there, let him understand

Ones we were seen together
That I had passion so confused,
So strange, so outrageous and so vulnerable

I wish I had silenced them
When they said he was not real

He’d already stolen my whole

I’m gonna let go
And keep this day
For with it he shall pay

He’ll live to remember

About this poem

A grieving heart that is in the verge of breaking down but at the end finds courage to understand that losing and letting go is the only way to stand strong again
