Babygirl
Shauna veronica
Hear the melody of the harmonica
Heaven is throwing you a party Babygirl
Look at you glistening by the waterfall
Rain is prohibited up here, you don’t need an umbrella
Dance my sweet princess, dance like Cinderella
Spread those wings
And shake your dress
Go crazy, make a mess
Be that sculpture made of ice
Everyone's invited in your paradise
The pain is finally over, you can rest your tummy
My dear angel it's me speaking, your mommy
I'm so broken in despair
What happened to you just wasn’t fair
The system failed you with their behaviour
All I wanted was to be your saviour
Often times I can't breathe, I can't sleep
Feeling helpless in a room so weak
When I first heard the news, I fell to my knees
I smashed plates, now my heart bleeds
You shouldn’t have been in care in the first place
Now all we can do down here is sing amazing grace
And remember.......
The 5th of November
When you were born a star
My first, my joy, my avatar
Now I stand without you
Gripping on a single rose
I'm not ready for those curtains to close
But I know you're in good hands
Enjoying all those live bands
From soul to reggae
At heavens gateway
Shauna? Life will never be the same for me
My only comfort is that now, you ARE free
I'll try to be strong
When I play our song
When I hear the melody of you and I
Remember this is goodnight, not goodbye
In God I trust
Because he gave me (YOU) my angel dust
He is the paper, I am the pen
Rest in peace sweet girl, AMEN.
About this poem
This poem was written by me for a dear friend who sadly lost her 16 year old daughter. I too am a mother and I felt her deepest pain so I decided to write this for her.
