Anger.

Anger. So much anger.
Unfiltered and raw.
Red and scorching.
Violent and overpowering.

It's the burn in my chest,
It's the tears in my eyes.
And I blame you.

It kills me to be angry at you,
But I can't control it.
It's fire. It's pain.
And it's your fault.
So feel it.
Let my words hurt you,
Let them scorch your skin and burn like acid.
In my anger, I want you to feel the way I feel.
I have old reasons to be angry at you,
Why do you have to go poking around ?
You ravage me. My soul. My heart.
I want you to burn.
The same as I do.

In truth,
I blame you so I don't blame me.
I blame you so I don't cry myself to sleep tonight.
I hate you so I can hide the fact that I also hate me.
Too bad it's not the same for love.
I love you, so why can't I love me ?

About this poem

I use poetry as some people use journaling. To unwind, to calm myself and to think. "Anger" is a contemplation of a fight I had with a loved one. It shows the duality of love when challenged by hate and anger.
