A cold Night
As the cold breeze sweeps through the empty streets, lighted up by flickering monochromatic street lamps. I look up to witness the dark sky, adorned with specks of heavenly light.
My legs accustomed with walking the same path a thousand times over to reach my home, yet today I feel a bitter cold radiating from my heart, seeping out through my thick coat.
A million memories running through my mind in a flash of a second, every single one about her. An ethereal beauty, nothing less than an angel from heaven itself. As I lose myself to my thoughts, the time around me slows down to a stop.
I imagine myself sitting across her in the restaurant last night, she has this distant look on her face and when i try to hold her hand, she hesitates. My worst nightmare bears fruit. The things she said next, was drowned by the wild noise of my myriad of thoughts,a lonely tear rolled down my cheek.
Flashing back to reality, I wipe away my tear to look up the night sky only to find the glimmering stars masked by dark grey storm clouds. The flickering lights have finally given up their struggle to stay ablaze, I continue to walk down the dark street,as yet an another cold breeze sweeps through the empty streets.
