The Words You Said

All I ever wanted
                              Was to feel the way
                                                                ...your words made me feel…
                                                                                 I want it to be real…
When you touched me
                                      I felt my heart flutter…
I couldn’t speak
                          I could only utter
                                                        ...a stutter
                                                                          But then you would speak
Those words made me melt, so sentimental
                                                                             I felt as though I was someone special
Like I was in the World Series
                                                     Leading with 12 runs to none
Your words said, no matter what, I would be
                                                                             The chosen one…

                                   My stomach is in knots
I’ll put to rest
                       My intuition
                                            And avoid it…
                                                                 I wanted to believe it....
I wanted to wish upon a star
                                                 And if I’m sleeping
                                                                                 Please don’t wake me up…
I want to keep on dreaming
You’d kiss me and it felt unreal
                Why would you want to kiss me?
                                                                       What’s the deal?
I fell in love with an imaginary dream
                                                                  No one has ever wanted me
                                                                                                                 After they see
The inner me ....
                          They can’t handle all of my insecurities

And I feel more insecure

                                                                                     Filled that empty void
