Knee deep in stars

Simon Harris 1979 (LINDEN,TEXAS)

Waded through dreams
Knee deep in stars
Across desert, bayous and bars
Lost highways, dive joints and scars
Silent tears, shed indifference to
Untraveled roads no matter how far
Angel headed hipsters drifting as wind
Unsettled scores,  the dice games of men...
Unrelenting realities, sanity's den
Gather round the fire
For friendship and kin
Dust the night off,
Remember back when
Love was traded and it wasn't a sin
Paint pictures to take me back
The sounds i still hear
The ghosts of loved ones inherently near
Give way to living a life without fear
The dust setteled, the sun set on regret
Rivers carried the blues away
I won't soon forget
The shores we've wandered on
Nor how first we met
Fare thee well my honey
It ain't over yet
Chase time into the sun
Let's dance while we still can
Until the trip is done
Movement of black throated winds
And moments felt and seen
Blue eyed diamond jack
Clothed in velveteen
We kissed in the noon day sun
Of distant memories
Holding hands like children
The finest ever seen
Living days like dandelions
chasing fairy wings
The water from the mountain
Cleansing life and what it brings
We'll live a thousand mornings
Longing towards the Spring....
Silent prayers in the morning
For every Human being....
