Footprints On My Heart

Becoming a mother is the greatest thrill
Becoming a grandmother is my whole world.

The  pitter patter of tiny little feet
Their little hand prints leave marks on you heart
The imprints are so deep.

A Twinkle in their eye,
Shine like stars on the darkest of night
A smile so bright
Like rays of sunshine that peek through the clouds.

From their first breath
To their first words
Like a mother bird
Feeding her newborn babies
Passions of the earth.

Don't blink your eyes
They grow up so fast
So they too will be parents
Leaving their footprints in the past.

About this poem

I am inspired by this poem because my children are my life, but becoming a grandmother there's nothing more special.
