Another place

Another place 1979 (Cairns)

It was a land that was in another place with a different kind of human race,
Sitting in a room filled with chairs learning a protocol that was theirs,
Looking around and trying to breath but up there oxygen isn’t something you need,
He stood stern and tall at the front of the room and told us not to worry because we would all be home soon,
But before you go take a look around and if you like what you see a new life could be found,
All 7 of us from the human race took one step outside and slowed down our pace,
The buildings were made of black slippery rock that looks like it’s wet but it was not,
The sun was there but didn’t shine,
The people didn’t use the time,
The flowers were beautiful but very rare and all I could do was sit and stare and try to comprehend what apparently wasn’t there,
The trees were unlike anything I’ve ever seen,
The grass was a different shade of green,
You could tell the females from the males but there were no children in this fairytale
I told him thanks I have to go,
He said to stay but I said no
He said OK and he sent me home with no fear but he promised to visit Earth at least once in our year,
7 of us went up that day but only 5 of us came home to stay.
