A wave and Life

Ruth 1948 (Pennsylvania)

A wave is born and rolls to the shore,
building up bigger more and more.
It reaches a point where it must break,
leaving a trace of foam at its wake.

A wave is like life in many ways,
building and breaking and leaving a haze.
it'll build so much till it can't endure,
then come to a final rest on the shore.

About this poem

I wrote this poem November 1966. I had a postcard from the shore of the ocean in the moonlight. This inspired me to write it from Wildwood NJ. My family had a vacation home in the Villas near Wildwood.
