Layers

Tomin Mooney 1972 (Cochin)

Build upon build
Layer after layer
Peeled unpeeled
A cavalcade of archers
As arrows rained the skies
Sun blotted their shade
Crescendoed underneath
Tidal wave on wave
Crashed upon the walls
Holding departing
Tearing splintering
Colliding colluding
Steinway’s grand
Pearl’s myriad rounds
Korg’s black n whites
Struck the Stradivarius strains
Pushing again n against
Lifting uplifting
A million human cords
To the conductor’s hands.
