BROKEN PAST

Alone in a far corner of silence
In a world of dreams - my world
Listening to the plaintive whispering of sweet memories
In a world that moves with loose translation in lasting time
Slowly my trembling mind assembles locked away pieces of a broken past

The sedate soothing rhythm of fluttering butterfly wings
Sounds through the cold fresh air
Of this well known lair
Wings thats ripped from time and grime important flight sublime
Forgathering locked away pieces
Of a broken hearts broken past

Fluttering to ragtime
Butterflies we mime
Whilst somewhere far below us
Strangers once known begin to stir

My moment of riposte
As his presence is known
My connoisseur
Finally memories lost re-occur

The day has come late not soon
But fluttering we are together
Towards the moon
Happily ever after
In our fantasy hot air balloon!
