Bones
The days pass by slowly but surely
The night falls upon me as the days gone
My life begins to have fun as I wake
The endless possibilities of the days ahead
Witting down a schedule that I’m not going to follow
I enjoy the rebellious acts that are found when I’m a sleeping hollow
My unconscious consumes me and that’s when Im more than a piece of bone marrow
That has nerves or flesh that get ripped off and taken off by a zipper
Every night as I lay naked looking at the sky watching the Little Dipper
Could I reach at that instant I’m touching the millions of stars
Making them fall upon us as tear drops of rage
Falling slowly but an anger that’s pounding
A saddening anger rushes the droplet down
Oh am i dust that’s been blown by your breath
Now if I am bones do I become death
Or instead just get dug underground
Pounding the casket listen to the floor to the ground I can be heard it’s a eerie sound
Scratching the coffin that reads Momento Mori
About this poem
Defying the laws of a concept of a skull and how they are laying upside up looking at the night since they are in the dark for eternity.
