Pleasant Dreams

I woke up in a cold sweat.
It's hard for me to catch my breath.
I had a dream about life after death.
My heart is pounding out of my chest.
Feeling stressed.
My skin is covered in sweat.
It's hard for me to close my eyes and rest.
I guess, I need to address.
That my life is a mess.
More or Less.
I am not impressed.
With the idea of life after death.
Damn, I am still trying to catch my breath.
Damn, this dream…
It was terrifying...
The color scheme isn't what it use to be.
The theme was unknown to me.
That's pretty extreme.
Hearing myself scream during the dream.
Tears from the fear.
Smears across my face.
My heart slows its pace.
The dream is starting to erase.
You would think life after death would be a pleasant assessment.
Not an impairment in total darkness.
A moment I swear I felt something.
Surrounding my well-being.
There is something whispering inside my head. Echoing...
Are you alive…
     Or
Are you dead…
