ADJUSTING

As I struggle through this shit,
That now is my new reality.
My life has been,
Turned upside down
Inside out,
All the twists and complications
Making me sad
Mad,
And I am trying hard not to shout.
I am having trouble,
These days
Ever since last May,
That is when
It all was taken away.
Took away my Independence,
My ability to drive a car.
To clean
Cook,
Or to bathe
Are you with me so far?
It is overwhelming,
But I have overcame a lot.
I still have things
To achieve,
Am still learning how to walk.
I miss the sunshine,
On my face
To stand outside,
And feel the rain.
I know
This is my new reality,
And I do not
Mean to complain.
I am thankful for my life,
To hold my grandchildren
In my arms,
To see my loved ones
Once again.
My heart is heavy,
And I guess
I just need some more time.
To adjust,
To this new way.
I will keep the Lord beside me,
To hold my hand
And I trust,
In him to guide me.
For he gave me my life,
and I know in my heart..
He is with me,
Always to stay.
